Weekly market
The rhythm of the city’s commercial development has long been set by its weekly market, first recorded in 1029, and by its local fair, which was well known by 1048. The historic centre still holds its traditional weekly market every Tuesday and Saturday.
The markets take place outside on the streets of the city’s historic centre (Carrer Major, Carrer dels Canonges, Plaça Patalín and Plaça dels Oms).
Half of the 70 stalls sell food. Farmers’ and local products take centre stage. The other stalls offer textile products, footwear, accessories and artisanal goods.
